The bloomers are knitted in the round, from top to bottom, in structure according to the diagram. You start by knitting a fold down edge, then work them higher in the back. Then you work in the round before knitting the front and the back piece separately. You decrease stitches in each side on the front and the back piece to make leg openings. The remaining stitches are sewn together with Kitchener stitch at the bottom. Finally, stitches are picked up around the leg openings to make leg edges.
